Franklin County Update 12-14-06
IN LOVING MEMORY

Join us and become a foster parent today so that we can help more dogs at this shelter!
Hello Rescue Friends!
Merry Christmas! We are just going to jump right into the update today as we are swamped with rescue and personal chores right now… K-13 the PYR mix has thrown everyone for a loop and is playing Houdini.  Her new adopted family took her outside to visit with an AC officer and she slipped her leash. She has been hanging out at the facility but proven hard to catch.
Rescued were K-03, and boy was she happy. A very Friendly girl! Also the Golden Mix in K-09 Also 2 not pictured were a big black lab who was rescued and a hound was reclaimed by it’s owner. There were also 5 lab puppies there when we arrived and we were able to contact a local rescue who would take them into their group. THANK YOU!!! A BIG thanks to all involved in getting these guys into loving safe homes.
NEW!!! 2 puppies Absolutely adorable!!! They look to be Shepard hound mixes and only about 4 to 5 weeks old! If you head to the shelter looking for them they are in one of the cat condos as they are too small for the regular kennel. There is a big yellow Lab in K-04 who was having a hard time keeping her balance on the wet floors.  Also an older hound in K-13 wearing a red nylon collar with a bright neon pink strip on it.
There are a couple of Hold Owner dogs there as they think they know the owners and are contacting them. There was also an aggressive dog there under a bite quarantine. These types of dogs are never listed on petfinder but we hear a lot of times, that others feel there is a lot of open room in the shelter and that just is not always the case. We only list what we are allowed to list. Animal control will be closed for the holidays from Dec 25, 26 and 27. The vet will be out before the holiday so time is short on getting these guys to a safe new home. If you have some room in you home for a new family member or know of any rescue that have room please let them know.
You guys have worked so hard all year on helping with this shelter and we really appreciate you! There is no way such success can come from one person alone and we thank you for all of your dedication!

If you see an animal that you have questions about please call Animal Control directly at 919-496-3032. They will be able to provide you with any information you will need faster than we can. We have added the direct link to Petfinder to help with any cross postings. We would hate to loose a dog/cat due to us not being able to get an answer back to someone fast enough.
