Franklin County Update 1/4/07

Hello Fellow Rescuers and Friends,

New are quite a few cute little faces, an adorable litter of puppies who look to be about 6 weeks old, 3 yellows, 1 brown, 1 Shepard coloring.  A Golden Retriever mix wearing a red collar, no tags and two guys that got picked up together, a Beagle wearing a blue collar with an old worn tag that has no info on it. He was with a Rottie mix that looks more like a Shepard to us. Their pictures are listed below.

And we want to tell you they have 1 cat. Cute cat too! She is a medium hair and could be a main coon mix but we really don’t know for sure. She is very friendly.

Adopted but not pictured are a Black Lab and a separate Yellow lab. Both owner surrender and adopted out the next day. There was another Black Lab that came in as a stray who was reclaimed by it’s owner.

There were 4 from the last update that got adopted, two Beagles, The longhaired Shepard/ Rottie mix and the Husky mix puppy!!! YAHOO!!!!

You will see we lost 3 dogs but it was not in vein, the three dogs that filled the cages are the three mentioned that were adopted and reclaimed.  Animal Control has been packed with dogs the last couple of weeks and we were expecting much worse when we arrived.

Please, if you are working on a rescue call animal control directly at 919-496-3032 to let them know. We both are not as available as much as in the past with new jobs and heavy schedules and it would be just awful to loose a dog due to lack of communications. We are still here, just afraid of making a mistake.

You are all fantastic and this could never be accomplished with out all of you hard work and team effort!!

All Our Best,
Linda and Julie
